Robin's Egg Nail Design

It's Monday and I hope I am having a good day. You see, I'm writing this early because I am too eager to try this nail design. I loved the color as soon as it came out of the box! It is so gorgeous! The nails did turn out great if I do say so myself!

I got this polish from Julep Maven in the mail a few days ago and it is called Robin. Between the name and a picture I had seen on Pinterest I designed these nails. They are definitely the color of a robin. I think there a little dark for a robin's egg, but they are still adorable.

Robin is a creme polish and they can sometimes be hard to put on because they can look streaky and show every little imperfection in the nail. I was a little disappointed in this one because it was thick and sticky though. It takes me awhile to polish my nails because my right hand shakes intermittently (a residual symptom of the stoke I had last year). But even without that, it would of taken me awhile. I was worried they weren't going to work out at one coat,...

One coat of polish.

...but my worry lessened at two coats...

Two coats of polish.

Honestly, if I hadn't been planning to put glitter over it, they would have looked horrible! But that is what I was planning, a coat of silver glitter before the top coat to finish this look.

I used OPI's Nail Envy as a based coat and their Top Coat. Julep Maven's Robin and Essie's Set in Stone is the silver glitter. I also used OPI's Drip Dry to dry my nails. (I forgot I had it and it popped its little head up the other day.) Its great! It dries your nails to the touch in a few minutes.

I am usually partial to pink polishes, but this one struck me as really beautiful. What color(s) of polish are your favorite?
